Prayers in Times of Crisis

Dear members,

We hope you are doing OK in these uncertain and hectic times!

We wanted to reach out to you as we know you all are facing the COVID-19 crisis, in different parts of the world. These are uncertain and critical times. And this new pandemic is affecting vulnerable populations even more, including LGBTI people around the world. Some of us are facing job loss, domestic / family violence, lack of access to medicine or physical and mental health issues as we are quarantined for many days. We know these are tough times for many. And we want to say that we, GIN, are here for you.

For now, we would like you to know that we have closed the GIN office in Johannesburg. Now everyone within the Secretariat is working remotely, and together we are thinking of creative ways of maintaining our work from afar and without travelling. We are meeting daily to think of ways of how we can remain connected to you all, our members. We do not know how long this crisis will affect us all, and we see this as an opportunity to create new ways of working together. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to email us.

And if you feel like connecting, please also do reach out to us. You know you can find us on Facebook (@globalinterfaithnetwork), Twitter (@ginssogie), WhatsApp, Instagram (@ginssogie) and Emails.

May this be a time for our community to build its resilience and generosity even more. May we come out of this crisis even more connected, loving and hopeful for our future.

With love,
Simon, Pierre, Toni & the GIN Board
