GIN-SSOGIE is responding to the Call for input to the thematic report to the UN Human Rights Council (HRC62), to be presented in June 2026, led by the Independent Expert on protection against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity (IE SOGI), Mr. Graeme Reid.
We’re asking all LBQ women, LBQ-led and feminist collectives, regional networks, service providers, researchers, and allied organisations among our membership (and beyond!) to make contributions to this form (https://bit.ly/LBQW-SR-IESOGI) for this response.
Participation is entirely voluntary and can be made on an anonymous basis. Please only respond if it is safe for you to do so!
The thematic report will use submissions like this one to identify patterns, gaps in protection, good practices, and to make concrete recommendations regarding the violence and discrimination experienced by lesbian, bisexual, and queer (LBQ) women worldwide to States and other stakeholders at the UN level.
For this response, GIN-SSOGIE is collecting information through a short online form which is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Arabic.
The form consists mainly of checkboxes and scaled questions, with a small number of optional text prompts for anonymised examples (which will only be shared if consent is given). This will help us to identify cross-regional patterns in the submission while centring the lived experiences of those who have been impacted.
We invite you to make submissions when you can! Submissions will close on 30 January 2026.
We’re looking for these responders:
LBQ women, LBQ-led and feminist collectives, regional networks, service providers, researchers, and allied organisations. Groups, networks and collectives are welcome to share individualised submissions! Diverse contributors, including informal groups, are encouraged to make submissions too.
Important information:
Anonymous responses are welcome. Your participation is voluntary.
Please respond only if it is safe for you to do so!
