New Programme Manager: Pierre Buckley

Pierre Buckley has been appointed as our new second Programme Manager, along with Victoria Petitjean, from January 2018.  We are delighted to welcome him.

Pierre Buckley is an energetic advocate for social change in the spheres of gender, sexual orientation, religion, and culture. He has worked at the Gay & Lesbian Network, based in Pietermaritzburg, for 4 years, having previously served on its board. He was a Mandela Washington Fellow in 2016.  He is a licensed lay minister within the Anglican Church of Southern Africa and believes that the LGBTIAQ+ community has a very special ministry to offer to people of faith. He strongly pushes for the inclusion of people who are often on the margins of faith communities such as HIV infected and affected individuals, the economically inactive, orphans, the elderly, LGBTIAQ+ individuals, and people with physical and behavioural challenges amongst others.
