Opportunity for Members! Storytelling for Social Impact Exchange @ USC School of Cinematic Arts, Los Angeles, USA

Call for Nominations: Storytelling for Social Impact Workshop

In September 2019, the American Film Showcase will host a professional exchange opportunity at the USC School of Cinematic Arts for international storytellers and content creators using media for social impact. The exchange is designed for small teams of creatives and social impact practitioners, developing projects in film, TV, radio/podcasts, and video games, with a social impact goal in mind. The focus of the workshop will not be on the craft of content creation, but on how to use story and character to develop and implement an effective audience engagement campaign.

The USC School of Cinematic Arts is the leading research institution at the intersection of entertainment content and social impact strategy. Faculty regularly train NGOs, governmental agencies, and independent storytellers on strategies for developing compelling storylines, often across platforms, for tangible social impact. Participants should leave the workshop with a strategy for meaningful engagement with audience communities.
