Otieno P. Odongo is a writer, educationist, accomplished author and development catalyst with expansive experience working with LGBTIQ communities in Kenya and East African region. Deeply embedded in the queer community, Mr Odongo continues to lend his expertise in Strategic thinking, Organization Development, training curriculum design&implementation as well as resource mobilization.
Through Nyarwek LGBTI network, and now through the HelpHeal Foundation, P. Odongo has led effort to engage faith communities in Kenya, conducted trainings, designed and reviewed engagement tools/manuals and led both offensive and reactive measures to ensure that faith spaces are inclusive.
An avid organizer, P. Odongo has consulted for Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice-coordinating Strategic Communications Project implemented in partnership with eight LGBTIQ organizations in Kenya, learnings from which continue to shape country level efforts to counter the rising influence of Christian Right which threaten to roll back gains made in our advocacy work. P. Odongo is a board member of IDAHO committee.
